i've been wondering if this is just something that's done in my area, or if people do it all over.. every year on memorial day, a lot of people meet for fs and then when they break into groups, they all discuss which cemeteries they are going to "work".
every major cemetery in the city is divvied up.
the idea is, they take a stack of small tracts (usually the what hope for dead loved ones) and they basically park the car in the cemetery and walk around handing them out to the mourners.
Obviously, "being no part of the world" is overlooked as a marketing ploy. thankfully, I was not approached whilst visiting my departed loved ones. but yes, it is done all over. I for one would be sorely upset to be approached in such a way. It angers me greatly. Point being, if they are no part of the world, then stop stalking worldly holidays for the benifit of prosilizing.

in the one meeting i attended, i noticed that some witnesses were creative in the answers they gave to the questions, while others were simply repeating what the magazine said.
i remember that, at the time, i thought the creative ones were also the smart ones, while the others were lazy, and that no doubt the creative ones would rank higher in the watchtower.. well, i think i have changed my mind.
it seems to me that those parroting the questions are, in a way, the smart ones.
Interesting observation. thank you blondie for posting the "official" instructions. Isn't it interesting to know that members do want a personal opinion and try to do so within the perameters set for them? You can't fight human nature. we are inquisitive beasts after all and the meetings bore everyone to tears.

even though i've been out for over 7 years and haven't attended in that long - i never cease to be amazed at the arrogance of this patriarchal man pleasing wt society in it's dismissive attitude towards women .
it's horrible.
Of what use is a single working mother to the tower? None. They will lose her and her children. A financial loss needs to be plugged. That is why they are putting this out there. Why they always have. They know that an unhappy family, even a violent one is better than divorce. That would cost them money. They have it down to an art dont they?
This has nothing to do with bible principals, and everything to do with the bottom line. Money.

To Me (only my opinion) it seems that You still have that old "from house to house from door to door" need. You are on a narrow path and need to maybe spend some "Me " time ...
It isn't Your job to 'save' anyone. Any attempts You make to "lead" people who are already disallusioned will meet with hostility. Speaking for Myself, I am over the kool aid, and would like an adult beverage.

I just want to throw this in the mix. I don't feel that "doubters" or folks who are searching are tenderfoots who need us to censor conversations. It is everyones right to make a fool of themselves. Kool aid man has gotten his fifteen minutes, stirrred up lots of conversation, and killer jokes.
Any doubter is not likely to see his antics and turn tail and run. Anyone who is inquiring is already a little more intune to a skunk in the trashcan so to speak and wont be put off to the point that they will turn off their computer and pray for forgiveness. I should think that a good eye roll will do, and on with more important matters.
i cannot believe that we all in some capacity were enticed by this illogical mindset, i do not have any animosity for the people in the individual kingdom hall, although they had complicity, the governing body have full responsibility for this massive lie, is there any way that the public at large can be alerted to this fraud against humanity?.

I guess I am thinking that dj sounds young and misguided? I don't know, I havent been on the board in ages. To Me any discussion on the issues are good discussions. Everything works to the good. Everything bears repeating that has value in my opinion.

I also want to throw out there that an issue as important as the blood doctrine does not grow moss when people are still dying over this crap. Younger peeps still have relevant issues although they may not want to sift through all our old posts and so forth. It is still engaging for me to see and read about peoples current comments and concerns. I wait along with everyone else to engage in conversation with anyone who wants to discuss the issues afresh.

The joys of a "tar and feathering" are two-fold, it is every persons perogitive to make a fool of themself , and is just and proper to let that person know they are largely without support in their ignorant views. My tar and feather comment is simply to support the majority on the board who are now popping their popcorn goodness and waiting for the show. It is not necessary for the willing victim to feel stupid, or feel shame, but if they wanna step in the ring in a g-string and pose, then I am gonna watch....

so, i found out a friend of mines cousin overdosed on drugs the other.
its absolutely awful.
i got a text from my mom this morning that said her friend who lives across the street from them said they had an overdose across the street.
Being a good fellow human is hard. It takes engagement, experience, and at times humility. Some people are lazy and accept the quick sell to bypass simple living and fellowship with others and are content to live their lifetimes out by black and white thinking and letting any meaningful decisions be handed over to others. It isnt just religions that do this. It is just the lazy way out of growing up and taking responsibility.
Failure to educate oneself is not exclusive to religion, but is deplorable and confusing coming from anyone. The common thread is ignorance and the groups that find it valuable. It leaves us befuddled to relate to because it is ignorant. Rejoice in the fact that You are not. The truth doesnt hurt anyone, If someone said that to Me, I would simply reply, "that is an ignorant statement". Rather than let it be on My shoulders, I would not take it on to start with I would put it right back where it came from (parent or no parent).
I am glad such drivel hurts Your conscience, You are the better person.
